    Tips: Main specifications of files

There are two types of file specifications:

One is the size of the file. This specification stipulates: square files are expressed in square size; round files are expressed in diameter; other files are expressed in file body length. Common file body lengths have various specifications, commonly ranging from 100mm to 400mm.

The second is the degree of roughness and fineness of the teeth of the file, namely the cut of the file, usually from roughest to smoothest: rough, middle, bastard, second cut, smooth, and dead smooth. The teeth pattern in the file surface is divided into single-cut and double-cut. The coarse-tooth files are used for processing soft materials, such as copper, lead, etc. or rough processing; the smooth files are used for processing hard materials or finishing; the finest files are used for the final surface finishing.

Each file has its main purpose and should be selected according to the shape and size of the workpiece surface.

    Will the square file rust?
Hello, I just received this square file, will it rust?
A manager responded to this review
Yes, it will rust. Because it is made of high-carbon steel material, it will rust when exposed to water, but it can be polished well. Be careful not to put the square file in a dark, humid or watery environment, and keep the surface dry. This can slow down its rusting speed.
