Wafer style butterfly valves and lug style butterfly valves are the main butterfly valves. However, what are differences between them?
Air actuated lug type butterfly valve
Lug type butterfly valves are mainly made from cast iron and stainless steel. They are used for bolt connection through their full threaded tap lugs positioned on the valve flange. The lug type butterfly valves with a pneumatic actuator, and the disc and seat material can be customized according to the flowing media.
Pneumatic wafer type butterfly valve
Wafer type butterfly valves are designed for four holes aligned with the connected pipe. They can be clamped between the pipe and the two flanges. The wafer type butter valve with a pneumatic actuator we provide has an EPDM valve seat that gives strong seal between the valve and the flange connection. Stainless steel disc will allow the pneumatic wafer butterfly valve to control gases and liquids from -10 °C to 120 °C.
